Hrizantema

As a project for my friends birthday I decided to draw a couple of her cats. One down, two to go. I was thinking, one of each breed. First out was "Lila Blå" ("Little Blue") - Hrizantema Rushn Bey. Blue Don Sphynx female.
In Photos.

Whaa?

K. So. Now I have a webpage for my so called art. Well see if something good comes out of it. My idea about the whole thing is still loose and unformed. Somewhere are the thoughts on making the stuff I doodle available online. I dont know yet what I want with my drawing, but I THINK Id like to work proffessionally with it. Maybe. Partially. among other stuff. I AM going to educate myself further in the area, but I wont say where, then you might steal my spot :D IF now anybody would do themselves the trouble of even reading this.

So: A small introduction to my drawing then?

Yaoi: Are you sensitive and homophobic - stay away. Im not gay, but according to others I have a not so healthy obsession on male homos :D So what could possibly be more interesting to draw than the excellent subgenre Yaoi from japanese manga? Lets straighten out a couple of misconceptions regarding Yaoi. Yaoi is not FOR gays. Its ABOUT gays. FOR girls.
And sells extremely well, so apparently not just me having this obsession...
But not all homostuff I do is Yaoi. Yaoi is the specific shojomangaversion of Boy on boy. Yeah. Girls have fetisches too.

Other stuff: Gee... not very much. Is it? :O
But casually, it appears some stuff that picture other of my passions and fixations like samurais, geishas, MLP (My Little Pony), Hello Kitty, Barbapapa, animald, graphic collages, and whatever I might feel like doodling at the moment.

Im a complete schizo regarding to choose a method of work. I use both a digital drawingboard (second cheapest crap from Claes Ohlsson - a Trust Widescreen A4), pencils, charchoal, wooden colourpencils, whatever pens happen to be in front of my nose. I dont bang using even lipstick or whatever, just as long as it looks cool. But the stuff most used here is tousche markers (ink markers), of varying brands. I own pens from Letraset Promarkers, Neopico-2 from japanese Deleter and Copic Ciaopens. My dream is to have a complete set of TRIA markers to doodle with, but I guess thatll have to be a dream for a while :S 300 pens a´ 35 SEK a pen... thats kinda a lot of money....
I mix the markers like I want, even though its not very smart always...
Promarkers are my favs, even though the Ciaos are kinda cool too.
I dont like Neopicos tones.

Im never satisfied with my work, and I guess thats what makes me eager to keep doodling. I am by biggest critic, the flaws burn my eyes, and praise strikes me as people not understanding the extent of flaw.

Mangakas I look up to are Obata Takeshi for shonen (Deathnote, Bakuman, Hikaru no go among other stuff) for his amazing flow and soft lines, detailing and preciseness. Hes my absolute fav mangaka - amazing. For shojo it would be Aihara Miki for a really modern style - I love it! And amazingly raw and clunky for a shojoartist - still not loosing the softness though. (Hottu Gimmiku e.g.)
In Yaoi there are many, since this is the genre I read the most, but the queen must be Sadahiro Mika, not only for juicy stories, but also for devastatingly beautiful aestethics and smooth, slick art. Other great yaoimangakas are Takanaga Hinako Fujiyama Hyouta (whos simple but precise, cleancut style inspires me the most) and new mangaka Dokuro Jaryu, whom I see as darn interesting stylewise.

Sources of inspiration vary so much - everything from Banksys urban graffitiart to Vermeers milkpouring maid. But Id have to say - Japan is the shit, and my greatest muse - in so many ways.
